Seven days teacher training was conducted from 19th to 25th February 2019 in Melauli, Baitadi as a part of the Education for Self-Reliant Individual Project: Phase One, which is being launched by the Support Society Nepal. There were altogether 25 participants in the training including the CCEM, EPTS and teachers from the local government schools. All the Participants actively participated the training. On the last day of the training, Support Society Nepal organized the closing ceremony in the presidency of Mr. Janak Singh Negi, where the Mayor of the Melauli Municipality Mr. Krishna Singh Nayak was the Chief Guest. Deputy Mayor Ms. Radha Ojha and other members of the municipal executive committee were also present on the occasion. They encouraged the participants to implement training outcomes in their real classroom. On the occasion, Mayor Mr. Krishna Singh Nayak shed lights on the importance of early grade literacy and numeracy and child friendly teaching methodology. On the same occasion, one of the training participants Mr. Surat Chand expressed his views on the necessity of teacher training and made his commitment to use the skills that he had learnt during the training, another participant Ms. Rubi Nayak added that the training was very practical and really helpful to implement child friendly methodology in their real classroom. On the behalf of the Support Society Nepal Mr. Janak Singh Negi spoke on the occasion. Mr. Negi informed the participants about the project goals, its mission and the strategy to reach the goals. He also focused on the importance of low cost no cost teaching learning materials to motivate the early grade learners in learning and teaching the concept in a child friendly ways. Mr. Negi further added the need of parents’ involvement in the schooling of their children as well as encouraged the participants to be a good teacher.
